Oswin Lodge is in Ebchester, County Durham. It's one of the lodges at Vindomora. You get your own gate to drive in, so it feels private.
It sleeps six, but it's two bedrooms. So the open plan living area is quite big. The beds are good quality. There's one bathroom. Because it's rated 5 Star, everything is in good order and clean.
The main thing is the view from the big windows. You look out over the River Derwent. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. It's got a dishwasher, washing machine, and a coffee machine. TV's in the rooms. You get robes for the hot tub.
There's a small bar and TV area on site you can use. Outside, there's a terrace and your own hot tub.
The site's right by the river. You can fish or use the boats. The Derwent Walk is there for walks or bike rides.
There's a village shop and some restaurants a short walk away. We've got discount vouchers for a local Italian and a pub, and for Beamish Museum.
For places to go, you're near the border with Northumberland. Corbridge is about ten miles, it's a nice little town. Hexham is a bit further, maybe fifteen miles. It has supermarkets and a leisure centre.
The Northumberland coast is worth the drive. Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are about an hour. Boat trips from Seahouses to see the seals on the Farne Islands are good.
For information on the wider area: National Trust North East and Northumberland National Park. Hadrian's Wall information is on the English Heritage site.
We can take up to two dogs. There's parking right by the lodge.
