Housesteads Lodge is one of nine lodges on a site near Ebchester, County Durham. They're all single-storey and detached, so you get your own space. Each one has a private garden and a hot tub that seats six.
It sleeps six people. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The main living area is open plan, with a wood burner for colder nights.
The site is down a country lane looking over fields. There's a village shop and a pub about half a mile away, so you can walk to them. If you like fishing, there's a boathouse on the River Derwent and you can get a permit. You're right by the Derwent Walkway for walks and cycling.
You're near the border with Northumberland. Hadrian's Wall is a short drive away. The National Trust site at Housesteads Roman Fort is about 20 minutes by car.
The city of Durham is 15 miles away. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site and worth a visit. Corbridge is a nice market town about 10 miles away. The coast is about a 45 minute drive if you fancy a day at the beach.
In terms of facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The site is wheelchair friendly, with ramps and wider doorways.
