The Cottage At Wood House is in Snods Edge. It's a one-bedroom place for two people, set in a courtyard behind the main house.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. Inside, it's all open plan: living room, dining area, and kitchen together. The bedroom is through an internal door with four small steps down to it. It has an en-suite shower room.
You have your own patio and garden area. There's also a full-size tennis court right behind the cottage, which you're welcome to use. The wider grounds are several acres of fields.
The place has WiFi, a TV, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site. You can bring one dog.
For supplies, the nearest shop is about five miles away. There's a pub and a restaurant a mile and a half down the road.
Corbridge, which is a Roman town, is close by. It's got nice walks by the river and the remains of the wall. For walks or cycling, Consett is nearby and you can pick up the C2C route there. The Terris Novalis sculptures are a few miles away.
Durham is about 20 minutes by car. Newcastle city centre is about half an hour.
