The Lodge At Slaley Park
The Lodge at Slaley Park is in Slaley, near Hexham. It’s a big, detached lodge that sleeps ten people, with five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
It’s got a four-star rating, which means it’s well finished and has good facilities, so it’s comfortable for a larger group. The layout is spread over three floors. Stairs are present and correct.
You’re on the edge of the Slaley Hall golf resort, surrounded by woodland. The views from the front are over the grounds towards the Cheviot hills. There’s a deck at the front and a big enclosed lawn at the back, which is good if you’ve got kids or dogs. There’s a private hot tub on the deck.
Inside, the main living area has a high vaulted ceiling. The kitchen and dining area is a decent size for everyone to be in. It’s a modern, well-equipped place.
On site, the Slaley Hall hotel has a spa, two golf courses, and bars and restaurants you can use. It’s about a ten-minute walk from the lodge.
Hexham is about six miles away. It’s a proper market town with shops, supermarkets, and places to eat. Corbridge is a similar distance, it’s smaller but very nice for a wander and has some good cafes.
You’re right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines AONB. Hadrian’s Wall is a few miles north. You can walk sections of it from places like Housesteads Fort or visit Vindolanda. Both are about a 20-minute drive.
Facilities are pretty comprehensive: parking, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and a wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a BBQ and a highchair. No pets allowed.
