The Old Stables is at Snods Edge, near the village of Stocksfield and Corbridge. It's a converted stable block, part of a larger house called Wood House. You're in a courtyard at the back of the main house. It feels a bit more private than it sounds.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. That's handy if you're sharing with friends or family. The rating is 4 Star. It's all on one level inside, which is good if you don't want stairs.
There's a big main room for the kitchen, dining and sitting area. It leads into a sunroom at the back. That's a nice spot to sit. The garden is a patio area that's enclosed.
You've got the grounds to walk around. There's a full-size tennis court right behind the property which you're welcome to use.
The location is rural. There's a local pub down the road. You're about a twenty minute drive from Hexham. Corbridge and its Roman sites are a bit closer. For a proper day out, you can easily get to Hadrian's Wall. Northumberland National Park and National Trust North East sites like Wallington are within half an hour or so.
Facilities: WiFi, washing machine, parking for a couple of cars. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
