The Old Stables is out the back of Wood House, in a courtyard. It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy.
It’s all on one level. The main room is big, open plan with the kitchen and living area. Off that there’s a sun room, which is quite bright. It looks out to the garden at the back.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and well-equipped.
You’re right out in the countryside here. There are fields all around. There’s a full-size tennis court just behind the Stables that you’re welcome to use. The garden is enclosed.
Facilities: there’s parking, WiFi, a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. There’s a woodburning stove for cooler nights. We’ve also got an electric vehicle charger.
It’s a rural spot. The nearest pub is a little way off, so you’d likely drive. For a wider choice, Hexham is about a 15 minute drive. It’s a good market town with shops and places to eat.
From here, you can get to Kielder Water in under half an hour. Hadrian’s Wall is maybe 25 minutes by car. If you fancy the coast, Alnwick and its castle are about 45 minutes away.
You can book the Stables with the other cottages here at Wood House if you’ve got a bigger group.
