St Ebba Lodge is near Ebchester in County Durham. It's one of nine lodges on site, all single storey and detached. You get a private garden with a six-person hot tub and some furniture.
It sleeps six in two bedrooms and has one family bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. The main room is open plan with a kitchen, dining and living area. There's a wood burning stove. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
The lodge has been adapted for wheelchair access. There's disabled parking, a ramp, wider doorways, and a bathroom with a large, accessible shower.
The site is down a country lane, looking out over fields. It's quiet. The village of Ebchester is about half a mile away, so you can walk to the local shop and pub. The pub does food.
You're right by the River Derwent. Fishing permits are available for a small fee. The Derwent Walkway and other public footpaths start a few hundred yards away, which is good for walking and cycling.
Durham city is about 15 miles away. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site with the cathedral and castle. Worth a visit. For a bigger town, Hexham is 15 miles in the other direction, with shops and Hexham Abbey.
You're close to the North Pennines and not far from the Northumberland National Park. Hadrian's Wall is within easy reach for a day out. The coast is about 24 miles away if you fancy a trip to the beach.
Facilities wise: bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. On site parking. No pets. The property is for families and couples only, so no stag or hen parties.
