This is Haven In The Burn. It's in Blaydon, on the edge of the Tyne and Wear built-up area. It backs onto woods and fields, so it feels quiet, but Newcastle city centre is only about a ten-minute drive away.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with double beds, and two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star. It's a modern conversion, so it's comfortable and warm.
There's a full-sized pool table inside. Outside, there's a deck with a hot tub that looks out over the trees. The garden is big and fenced in. It gets the sun most of the day.
You're right next to Blaydon Burn, which is a big area of woodland you can walk into. For longer walks or a bike ride, the Derwent Walk Country Park is close by. It follows an old railway line.
Newcastle is six miles east for restaurants and theatres. The MetroCentre shopping mall is about five miles away. If you drive for about half an hour, you can get to the coast at Tynemouth or Whitley Bay, or out to Beamish Museum. Hadrian's Wall and the Northumberland coast are also within reach for a day out.
What's here: parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, a BBQ, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
If you want to look things up for the area, the National Trust Northumberland Coast site is useful.
