The Cottage At Dockens Water
The Cottage is on our smallholding in Linwood, right on the edge of the New Forest. It's a detached place, just for two.
It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable, with decent fixtures. There's one bedroom, but it comes with two bathrooms. The main one is an en-suite with a big, old-fashioned slipper bath. The second one is just a shower room. That's a bit unusual but people seem to like having the extra space.
The living area is all open plan: kitchen, dining table, and sofa. It looks straight out over the forest. There's a private terrace with the same view. You'll see ponies, cattle, and deer from the windows.
The front gate opens directly onto the forest. You can walk or cycle for miles straight from the door. There are a couple of pubs within walking distance, about twenty minutes on foot. Linwood is very quiet.
If you drive, you can be on the coast at Southbourne or Christchurch in under half an hour. Bournemouth is a bit further. The New Forest villages like Burley and Brockenhurst are close by for shops and cafes.
Facilities: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to the cottage. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's also a shared swimming pool on the site that guests can use.
