Homewood
Homewood is a barn conversion we finished a few years ago, near Alderholt. It's part of a small group of three cottages, all converted from the same farm buildings. They're next to each other, but you have your own space and garden. The whole site looks out over fields. You can see the tower of Fordingbridge church in the distance.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it works well for a couple of families. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. The floors are polished concrete with rugs. The main staircase is glass, which looks nice but you'll want to watch younger children on it.
You get two gardens, one east and one south facing. There's an outdoor seating area with a firepit and barbecue. We've also got a pizza oven you can book to use. The kids' play area is simple, a bit rustic. We have chickens on site, so you can get fresh eggs in the morning.
At the bottom of the land there's a gate into about forty acres of private ancient woodland. It's lovely, full of bluebells in spring. That woodland connects to the Avon Valley path, which is good for long walks. The river Avon is on the boundary for fishing.
Fordingbridge is the nearest town, about five minutes in the car. It's got shops, pubs, and cafes along the river. Ringwood is about fifteen minutes away for a bigger supermarket.
You're right on the edge of the New Forest National Park. You can drive in or walk from here. Ponies and cattle wander around freely. For other days out, Moors Valley Country Park is about twenty minutes away. The coast at Bournemouth or Poole is roughly half an hour.
In terms of facilities, it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside and an electric vehicle charger. We can take up to two dogs. If you're bringing a horse, we can arrange stabling, just ask beforehand.
