Chiddock Cottage

This is Chiddock Cottage in Alderholt. It's on our farm. It's one of four conversions in a sort of L-shape around a shared courtyard, so the neighbours are close. But you've got your own decked area out the front.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's all on one floor. The ceilings are high with beams, and the main room is open-plan. The floors are concrete with rugs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

Outside, there's that shared courtyard with raised beds where we grow veg and herbs. There's a fire pit, a pizza oven, and a BBQ there for everyone to use. There's a kids' play area. The chickens wander about, so you get fresh eggs. If you're bringing horses, we can do livery – just ask beforehand.

The farm track leads straight into Midgham Farm Copse, about 40 acres of woodland. You can pick up the Avon Valley path from there. On the farm, we sometimes run archery and axe throwing, and you can fish in the River Avon.

For days out, Moors Valley Country Park is about ten minutes' drive. They've got cycling, a Go Ape, that sort of thing. The New Forest is on your doorstep. The coast at Bournemouth or Poole is roughly half an hour. Salisbury and Winchester are both within 30 minutes for the cathedrals and history.

Facilities: There's parking, including an electric vehicle charger. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
