Walnut Tree Cottage Lower Burgate

Walnut Tree Cottage is on our lane in Lower Burgate, about a mile out of Fordingbridge. It's a thatched, detached cottage, opposite our house. There are two other cottages here on the grounds as well, if you know another couple coming.

It sleeps two adults. There's one bedroom and one shower room. The rating is 3 Star. It's comfortable and clean, but it's not a hotel.

The layout is a bit different. You come in to the kitchen and dining area downstairs, and the shower room is down there too. The stairs go up to the main living area, and then a step leads through to the double bedroom. There's also a sofa bed in the living area, which is really only suitable for a child.

The ceilings are low in places, and there are quite a few beams to watch your head on. The floors are wooden. We can provide a stairgate.

You have your own little patio area with a table and chairs, and there's a big shared lawn garden that we use with our kids. You get your own parking spot.

You're right on the edge of the New Forest National Park. There's a footpath directly opposite the cottage gate. You can walk for miles from the doorstep and see the ponies. We have space to lock bikes away if you bring them.

The local pub is about a mile's walk. There's a shop there too. A good restaurant is just 400 yards down the road.

Fordingbridge town is a mile away. It's got a nice river, shops, and cafes. For days out, Moors Valley Country Park is close. The New Forest Water Park is nearby if you want to try that. The coast at Bournemouth or Poole is about a 40 minute drive. Salisbury and Winchester are both within 30 minutes by car.

The cottage has a TV, washing machine, and all bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
