Walnut Tree Cottage Lower Burgate

Walnut Tree Cottage is in Lower Burgate, Hampshire. It's a detached thatched cottage in our garden, across from our main house. You get your own parking space and a patio area. The larger lawn is shared with us.

It sleeps two adults, with one double bedroom upstairs. There's also a sofa bed upstairs, but we only really recommend that for a child. The bathroom with a shower is downstairs, along with the kitchen. The living area is upstairs in the bedroom. It's got low beams and wooden floors, so mind your head.

Being thatched, it's quite dark inside. The charm is the thatch, but it does mean you'll need the lights on during the day. The stairs are steep, as you'd expect.

The location is straightforward. You're just off the main road between Salisbury and Ringwood, so getting around is easy. Directly opposite the cottage are footpaths straight into the New Forest. You can be walking among the ponies in two minutes. We have space to lock bikes away if you bring them.

Fordingbridge town is about a mile away. It's got shops, cafes, and a few places to eat by the River Avon. The nearest pub is a mile walk, and there's a restaurant about 400 yards away.

For days out, National Trust New Forest properties like Kingston Lacy are close. Moors Valley Country Park is good for walking and cycling. Salisbury, Winchester, and the coast at Bournemouth are all within a 30 minute drive. The New Forest Water Park is nearby if you want to try wakeboarding or similar.

The cottage has a washing machine, TV, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a stairgate. Sorry, no pets.
