Brook Barn is a converted barn near Shobley in the New Forest. It's detached. You've got your own enclosed garden and it looks out over fields and forest.
It sleeps six, but just so you know, there are only two proper bedrooms. One double is on the ground floor. The other double is upstairs, and there's a single bed on the galleried landing up there too. They can put up a Z-bed for a child as well. So it's flexible, but it's really two bedrooms plus a sleeping area. There's one bathroom with a shower.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It feels spacious because of the high vaulted ceiling. There's a wood burner, which is nice in the colder months. The stairs are a bit unusual. They're carved from local trees with iron railings, so they feel quite rustic. They're sturdy, just a feature.
On site there's a cart that sells fresh vegetables in season. The owner lives next door.
You're right in the New Forest National Park. Ponies and cattle wander past. The heathland and woods start at the end of the drive. Good for walking and cycling straight from the door.
The nearest shop and pub is about a mile and a half away. Ringwood is four miles. It's a market town with supermarkets, a few restaurants, and a leisure centre.
For days out, the coast at Bournemouth or Poole is about 40 minutes' drive. Salisbury and Winchester are both within an hour. If you're interested, New Forest National Park Authority has good walking and cycling maps. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline and some estates nearby too.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. Up to three dogs are allowed. The garden is enclosed.
There's another similar barn next door called Meadow Barn. You can book them together if you're a bigger group.
