Meadow Barn is in Shobley, Hampshire. It's on the edge of the New Forest. The barn is next to another one, Brook Barn, and our house. You come in through the old farmyard.
It sleeps six. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a barn conversion, so it's got high ceilings with beams. The living area is open plan.
The main thing is the staircase. It's made from local trees, with iron railings shaped like branches. It's unusual. The single bed is on a galleried bit upstairs, which feels a bit like a treehouse. The other double bedroom is on the ground floor.
There's a ground floor wet room, which is handy. You get a washing machine, towels and bedding. The garden is enclosed.
You're in the New Forest here. Ponies and cattle wander past. The footpaths start right outside. There's a cart on the farm where you can get fresh vegetables when they're in season.
The nearest shop and pub are about a mile and a half away. Ringwood is four miles. It's a proper market town with shops, pubs and a leisure centre.
Within about half an hour you can get to lots of places. The coast at Bournemouth is about 16 miles. Moors Valley Country Park is close for walking and cycling. For history, Salisbury and Winchester are both within an easy drive. The New Forest National Park Authority website is good for planning walks and rides.
You can bring up to three dogs. If you're coming with more people, you can book Meadow Barn together with Brook Barn next door.
