Flamingo
It’s called Flamingo, on a little side street near the middle of Whitstable. It sleeps ten, with five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s a straightforward, modern house.
The garden is a decent size and it’s fully enclosed. It gets the afternoon sun. There’s a patio area with a table and chairs, and a BBQ.
Inside, it’s all on two floors. There’s a bedroom with its own shower room on the ground floor, which is handy. The living room is open plan with the kitchen. It’s got a woodburner for colder nights. The stairs are normal house stairs, not steep.
The house feels quite spacious for a town centre place. There’s on-site parking for two cars, which is a real benefit in Whitstable.
You’re about a five minute walk from the beach and the high street. The beach is pebble, with the working harbour and the old oyster sheds. The town has good pubs, restaurants and independent shops. You don’t really need to drive once you’re here.
If you do drive, Canterbury is about twenty minutes away by car for the cathedral and shopping. The National Trust look after the grasslands at Tankerton Slopes, which is a nice coastal walk.
The house has all the basics you’d expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
