Elm

This place is called Elm. It's one of two cottages here on Herne Common.

It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a Four Star rating, which means it's been done up nicely. There's a sofa bed downstairs if you need it, but it's really meant for two.

You're on the main road towards Herne Bay beach. It's not a remote spot, but it's quiet. We've got a smallholding here, so there are a few chickens and a livery yard. The garden is yours to use and it's enclosed, which is good because we take one dog.

Herne village is a short walk. There's a pub that does food about 300 yards away, and a shop about a mile. The beach at Herne Bay is three miles. It's a good, long stretch.

Canterbury is five miles. That's where you go for the Cathedral and the shops. You can walk the city walls.

For days out, the North Downs Way is close for walking. Whitstable is about a twenty minute drive for the harbour and oysters.

Inside, it's open plan. Patio doors open to the garden. There's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher, and parking. Bedding and towels are included.
