Puxton Lodge is near Westbere, just outside Canterbury. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. The garden wraps around the place and it's all yours.
It sleeps six but there are only two proper bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other has twins. The extra two sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. There are two bathrooms, both with walk-in showers.
The cottage is clean and modern. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means everything works and it's well looked after. The floors are tiled throughout, which is handy if you've got sand or kids.
The sofa bed is in the main living space. You need to know that. So if you've got people sleeping on it, there's no door to close.
You've got a big garden with a patio and a barbecue. The view is over fields. You get a lot of birds from the nature reserve nearby.
It's quiet. The nearest pub, The Red Lion, is about a mile away in Stodmarsh village. It's a proper walk along the lane, so take a torch. The Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve is a few hundred metres further on. Good for a flat walk.
Canterbury is 15 minutes by car for the cathedral, shops, and restaurants. Whitstable is about half an hour for the harbour and oysters.
For a beach day, you're looking at Reculver, which is about 20 minutes drive. It's mainly shingle with the towers. For proper sand, you'd go to Botany Bay or Broadstairs, that's more like 40 minutes.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Parking for two cars on the drive. No pets sorry.
