Augustines Cottage

This is Augustines Cottage in Canterbury. It's in a quiet cul-de-sac right near Canterbury Cathedral. You can see the cathedral from some of the windows.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with a roll-top bath. The other is a twin room, which uses the downstairs shower room. The rating is 3 Star, which fits. It's comfortable and clean, not a show home.

There's a pub and a cafe literally a minute's walk away. The city centre shops and restaurants are about a five minute walk. You're right there, but the house itself is quiet because it's set back from the road.

The garden at the back is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs and kids. It's got a decked area with a table, chairs, a BBQ, and a chiminea.

Inside, there's a woodburning stove in the sitting room. The facilities are what you'd need: WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.

For things to do, you're right by St. Augustine's Abbey. The Canterbury Cathedral is the obvious one. You can go punting on the River Stour. The Crab and Winkle Way cycle path goes out to Whitstable, which is about seven miles away.

If you want to drive out, you're well placed for the Kent coast. Whitstable and Herne Bay are about 20 minutes. Dover and its castle are roughly half an hour. For wider planning, the Visit Kent site is useful.
