Kentish Barn Retreat is just outside Chilham. It's a converted barn, so the ceilings are high and there's a lot of glass and skylights. It feels very open. The main living area looks out over fields and orchards.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom has a roll-top bath. The kids' room has bunk beds. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out. There's air conditioning, which is unusual around here, and underfloor heating.
The garden is enclosed. There's a raised deck with a table and chairs. You can see rabbits and birds from there, sometimes buzzards. At the bottom of the garden there's a separate cabin with a hot tub and a TV.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. No pets.
Chilham village is about a five minute drive. It's very old and they film a lot of period TV shows there. There are a couple of pubs and a tea room. For walks, the North Downs Way passes nearby. You can walk to the river.
Canterbury is 15 minutes away by car. You've got the Cathedral and all the history, plus shops and restaurants. The coast, places like Whitstable, is about a 30 minute drive. For a day out with kids, Badgers Hill Farm is close by.
