The Garden Wing At Mount Ephraim

The Garden Wing is a six-bedroom part of a Victorian house called Mount Ephraim, near Faversham in Kent. It sleeps twelve. There are two bathrooms.

It's a big, listed building and you're renting one side of it. It has its own front door. The family who own the place live and work in other parts of the house and estate. The gardens are open to the public on certain days from April to October, but you have the run of them outside those hours.

The house is on an estate with about ten acres of gardens. There's a rose garden, a Japanese rock garden, and a lake. The views from the windows are over all that.

Inside, there's a large sitting room with a woodburner, a smaller snug, and a games room with a full-size snooker table. The kitchen and dining area are open plan. Upstairs, the six bedrooms all look out over the gardens or the countryside.

Outside your door there's a terrace. You can also book an afternoon tea, served either in your part of the house or in their main kitchen, using local produce.

A couple of things to know plainly. It's a family home and a business. There's a B&B in another wing. They sometimes host weddings and events on the estate, so there might be a marquee on the lawn or some preparations going on in the main house during your stay. It won't be a wedding on your dates, but there might be activity.

You can bring up to two dogs. There are two local pubs that allow dogs. There are good walks from the door.

Faversham is about ten minutes by car. Whitstable and its harbour is about twenty minutes. Canterbury is roughly fifteen minutes away.

For facilities, it has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
