Hawthorne Cottage is ours. It's on our farm in Elmstone, Kent. The cottage is detached and quite old, it's Grade II listed and has those pointed gables.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's rated four stars. It's been restored, so it's in good shape, and we've kept a lot of the original features. The main thing is the ground floor layout. There's a bedroom and a wet room bathroom down here, and the doorways are wide. It's genuinely wheelchair accessible, which is rare for a cottage this old.
You have the cottage and its garden to yourselves. We're in the farmhouse up the lane. Our farm is 21 acres, mostly orchards. You can walk through them to get onto the Saxon Shore Way footpath.
The village of Preston-next-Wingham is a mile away. It's got a shop and a pub. They're fine for the basics.
For towns, Canterbury is probably 20 minutes by car. It's got everything. If you like the coast, Whitstable is easy to get to, and Dover for the ferries isn't far either. Sandwich is about a 15-minute drive.
Inside, it's got the things you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. The bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there, and we've put in an electric vehicle charger. We allow one well-behaved dog.
