The Stables

The Stables is in Shatterling, a small hamlet near Sandwich. It's a little brick and flint single-storey building that used to be stables. It's detached, so it's just you and the garden. It feels quite private.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. Everything's on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star Gold award, so it's well looked after and comfortable. It's not huge, but it's got everything you need.

There's a patio with a table and chairs. The garden is mostly lawn. You can park right outside.

Inside, it's been done up with a lot of oak and some nice finishes. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine. The bed is a double. Towels and bedding are included.

The local pub is about a mile and a half away in Goodnestone. It does food. The nearest shop is about the same distance.

You're well placed here. Sandwich, which is a nice old town, is about five minutes by car. Canterbury is about twenty minutes. The coast at Deal is about fifteen minutes. From there you can walk along the front to Walmer.

If you like history, there's a lot of it close by. Deal and Walmer castles are right on the coast. Richborough Fort and Dover Castle are within half an hour. For walks, the coast path is good, or there's the Stour Valley path inland.
