The Gardener's Cottage

The Gardener's Cottage is on our land in Shatterling. It's a one-bedroom place, just for two people. You're off to yourself down a track, attached to a bigger building we call The Stables, but you've got your own entrance and your own garden bit out the back.

It's small, but it's been done up properly. Everything's on the ground floor which makes it easy. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and in good order. It feels solid, with a lot of wood.

You're surrounded by fields here. It's quiet. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon. You can sit out there with a drink.

Inside, there's a kitchen area with a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a TV and the Wi-Fi works. All your bedding and towels are there.

Location wise, you're between Sandwich and Canterbury. The local pub is about a mile and a half away in the next village. For a bigger shop, you need to drive to Sandwich or Canterbury. There is a bus stop up on the main road if you want to leave the car.

Sandwich is about five minutes in the car. It's an old town, nice to wander around. Canterbury is maybe twenty minutes. It's got the cathedral and all the history. The coast is about a twenty-five minute drive. Deal and Walmer have their castles right on the seafront. Dover Castle is about half an hour.

If you like walking, the countryside around here is good for it. Or you can drive down to the coastal path. For organised trips or more ideas, the National Trust Southeast page is useful, as is Visit Canterbury.

You can park right outside the cottage. No pets, I'm afraid.
