The Gardener's Cottage
The Gardener's Cottage is in Shatterling, which is a small hamlet outside of Sandwich in Kent. It's one of two cottages on the same site, but you get your own private patio garden.
The place is small, it's just for two people. One bedroom upstairs, and one bathroom downstairs. It's got that 4 Star Gold rating, which means it's comfortable and well put together. Everything is clean and works.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's parking right outside and storage if you bring bikes. We provide the bedding and towels. The wifi is decent.
It's a quiet spot. There's a bus stop about 50 yards away if you want to get into Canterbury without driving. The nearest shop and pub are in the next village, about a mile and a half away.
You're a five minute drive from Sandwich. It's an old town, worth a walk around. Canterbury is about a twenty minute drive for the cathedral and shops. The coast is about ten miles for beaches at Sandwich Bay or Deal.
If you're into history, there are several castles nearby. Deal Castle and Walmer Castle are on the coast. Dover Castle is about half an hour's drive. For walks, the White Cliffs are good, or inland around the Stour valley.
