Wellspring Cottage
Wellspring Cottage is in Whitstable, in one of the old streets off Harbour Street. It's a fisherman's cottage, so it's not huge, but it's solid. It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom.
You come in through the living room, which goes through to the dining area and kitchen. French doors in the dining room open onto the garden. It's a grassed area, fully enclosed, with a couple of tables and chairs. There's a shed with a basic charcoal barbecue in it if you want to use it.
The stairs. They're steep and a bit narrow. They're original. I wouldn't want a big suitcase going up there.
You're a three minute walk from the High Street for shops, and about five minutes from the beach. Whitstable's good for that. You can pop out for a coffee or to get fish for dinner without needing the car. The seafood is the main thing here, but there are other places to eat too.
Canterbury is about seven miles away for the cathedral and history. You can get there by train or car. The Visit Canterbury site has the details. If you're coming from London, it's just over an hour on the train.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. It has a 4 Star rating. No pets.
