Cuckoos Nest

Cuckoos Nest is on Clearwater Lake in Somerford Keynes. It's a modern terraced house on the Lower Mill Estate, which is a big private nature reserve. You're right on the water.

It sleeps eight, over four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's a 5 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and finished to a high standard. The main living space is open plan with glass doors looking over the lake. There's a balcony too.

The estate is gated. It's 450 acres of woodland, rivers and lakes. You can see people out on the lakes kayaking or paddle boarding sometimes. The Activity Hub is a short walk away for hiring that sort of gear, or bikes.

The ArtSpa is also about five minutes' walk from the house. It has indoor and outdoor heated pools, a sauna, steam room and a gym. You book treatments directly with them.

On the facilities: it has a wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking for you. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed. There's a BBQ outside and two terrace areas overlooking the lake.

The local pub is just outside the estate gates, a few minutes' walk. It serves food.

Cirencester is about a ten minute drive. It's a proper market town with shops and a supermarket. For a day out, the Cotswolds are all around you. Cheltenham is roughly half an hour away if you're after something more lively. The Forest of Dean is also within a thirty minute drive for walking.
