Otters View
Otters View is on the Lower Mill Estate in Somerford Keynes. It's one of nine houses built overlooking the lakes here. People sometimes call it 'Millionaires Row', which gives you an idea of the place. It's a detached villa. You drive in through security gates and over a little bridge to get to it.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms, which helps with a group that size. It's a 5 Star property, so everything is high-spec. The main living area is open plan with big folding doors that look straight out over the lake. There's a wood burner. The kitchen is very well-equipped. The stairs are fine, it's a modern house.
There are balconies and terraces on every floor. The top one is a roof deck with seating and a chiminea. The master bedroom has its own wood burner. A glass walkway on the first floor looks down into the living room. It's a striking feature.
As a guest here, you get access to two spa facilities. There's a private one just for the nine houses, which has an outdoor pool, sun deck, small gym and a Finnish sauna. Then you also get access to the main estate spa, which has indoor and outdoor pools, a steam room and treatment rooms. You need to book slots for these.
The estate itself is 450 acres of lakes, woodland and meadows. There are marked trails for walking and cycling, tennis courts and a play area. You can hire bikes and other equipment on site. There's a restaurant and a farm shop about a five minute walk away. A pub is a mile away in the village.
For things to do further out, Cirencester is about 15 minutes by car. Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are within half an hour. Cheltenham is about 40 minutes away. The Cotswold Water Park is right on your doorstep for watersports.
Included in the house: all bedding and towels, a washing machine, a cot, highchair and stairgate. There's parking for several cars on the drive. The property isn't suitable for pets.
