Birch Shepherds Hut

Birch Shepherds Hut is on a farm in Chelworth, near Cricklade. It's basically a small, wooden caravan on wheels. It sleeps two.

It's glamping. You've got a proper double bed inside, a little kitchen area with a microwave, and your own electric heater. The toilet and shower are in a separate block a short walk away. They're shared with the other huts but they're clean and modern.

You're on a working farm with over 60 acres. You can walk around the fields. There's a shared lodge with seating if you want to get out of the hut, and a fire pit outside. They've got a kids' play area too.

It's very rural. The point is to switch off. The Wi-Fi is for the farm office, so don't count on it for streaming. You get a good mobile signal though.

You can bring one dog. There are horses on the livery next door, and sometimes you can arrange to go riding. The River Thames is nearby for fishing.

For a day out, you can drive to Cirencester in about 20 minutes. It's a proper old market town with Roman bits. The Cotswolds area is all around you. Swindon's about 25 minutes away if you need a big supermarket or the train station.

It's a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable for what it is. Just remember it's a shepherd's hut, so the space is clever but compact.
