Clover Shepherds Hut
Clover Shepherds Hut is on our farm near Chelworth Upper Green, in Wiltshire. It's a single hut, detached, on a field edge. You've got your own bit outside the hut. The main view is across our farmland.
It says it sleeps five, but that's because the sofa converts to a small double and there are bunk beds in the alcove. Honestly, it's better for a couple, maybe with two children. It's one room, so everyone's in together. There's one proper double bed.
You don't have a bathroom in the hut. The shower and toilet block is a shared facility about a thirty second walk away. It's clean and modern, but you do have to go outside to get to it.
Inside, it's like a proper old-fashioned shepherd's hut, just done up nicely. There's a small kitchen area with a microwave, kettle, and toaster. There's no proper oven. You get a BBQ outside.
You're welcome to walk around the farm's 60-odd acres. There's a communal lodge with some seating if you want a change, and a shared fire pit. Kids can play in the field.
We're in the countryside. The nearest shop and pub are in Crudwell, about a mile and a half away. It's a nice walk down the lanes.
For bigger days out, Cirencester is about fifteen minutes by car. It's a proper market town with a lot of history. The Roman museum is good. Malmesbury is about twenty minutes away, Tetbury about twenty-five. All nice Cotswold towns.
If you like walking, the National Trust has several places nearby, like the source of the Thames. The Cotswold Water Park is close by if you want to go fishing or on the water.
Facilities: bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the hut. We allow one well-behaved dog. There's no wifi in the hut, you get a mobile signal but it's not strong. That's sort of the point.
