Coot Lodge

Coot Lodge is a barn conversion on the Lower Mill Estate in Somerford Keynes. It’s detached, so no neighbours through the walls. You get the whole place to yourselves.

It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. All bedrooms are on the ground floor. It has a five star rating. It’s very well equipped.

The main living space is open plan and runs the length of the barn. There are sliding doors along one side which open onto an enclosed deck. It overlooks a small stream and a pond. You often see swans there.

There’s a mezzanine level upstairs with table football and an Xbox. The stairs to it are a spiral staircase, so watch your step.

The estate is a private nature reserve. Lots of lakes and rivers. You can get straight onto the walking and cycling trails from the door.

The award-winning spa is about fifty yards away. Your booking gets you free access. It has indoor and outdoor heated pools, a steam room, sauna, and a gym. You need to book treatments separately.

There’s a restaurant and shop on the estate itself. The nearest pub is about half a mile away in the village.

Facilities wise: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We accept one well-behaved dog.

The village is near the Cotswold Water Park. Cirencester is about a twenty minute drive. For a day out, you’re not far from Cirencester Park or the Cotswolds generally.
