The Combe is a lovely coastal country self-contained annexe which is part of the owner’s family house. Located in the picturesque village of West Down, just 4 miles or so from the golden sands of Woolacombe and a short drive to Croyde beach and Ilfracombe Harbour. The accommodation comprises a comfortable lounge with smart TV, a kitchen/diner with lovely views over the fields behind the property, a double bedroom and shower room. Outside you can enjoy a peaceful drink or al-fresco dining on the private patio and there is one allocated parking space for your convenience.
West Down boasts an amazing pub with good food, a village shop and easy access to the Tarka Trail and Exmoor. The Combe is within 4 miles or so from Ilfracombe’s lovely harbour and port which dates back to at least the 12th Century with quality ice cream, fish and chip and various craft shops & art galleries to enjoy. The surrounding area has many attractions waiting to be discovered including an Off-Road Adventure site, Cairn Woodland Nature Reserve, Hillsborough and Rapperee Cove, Watermouth Bay, the Southwest Coast Path and for the family, Watermouth Castle and Theme Park.
You can take a trip to Lundy Island, go diving or take a trip on the Ilfracombe Princess and see seals, porpoises and sea birds nesting on the cliffs. Try your hand at sea fishing on Blue Fin or take an exhilarating tour of the amazing coastline on the Ilfracombe Sea Safari or on the Hampshire Rose, a former RNLI Lifeboat. West Down is also perfectly situated to the enjoy the countless other N Devon attractions such as the popular Tarka Trail and of course Exmoor National Park with its famous night skies reserve, just 8 miles or so away and Lynton and Lynmouth, 17 miles to the east with its incredible sea views, rugged cliffs and amazing funicular cliff railway which opened in 1890 and is the highest and steepest totally water powered railway in the world! And of course, then there are several world class beaches to enjoy such as Saunton Sands, Woolacombe, Croyde and a bit further around the coastline, Westward Ho! – all of which are famous for their surfing qualities, vast stretches of sand and also great dunes with the nearest, Woolacombe, being just over 4 miles away.
