The Shearing Shed

The Shearing Shed is an old farm building we converted. It's right here on our farm in Rye Foreign. The views are out over the apple orchards and sheep fields. It's quiet.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's on one level, no stairs. We allow one well-behaved dog.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. We've included a dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. The TV is there, but the signal can be a bit patchy sometimes. All the bedding and towels are provided.

You have your own enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. Parking is right outside.

The farm is about 200 acres. You're welcome to walk around the footpaths, see the sheep and the orchards.

For a shop or a pint, the nearest pub is two miles away. There's a restaurant about a mile down the lane.

Rye town is three miles. It's an old place with cobbled streets, shops, and cafes. The coast is close. Winchelsea beach is about three miles, and Camber Sands, with the big dunes, is six miles.

If you want to explore, there's a lot within half an hour. Bodiam Castle and Battle Abbey are good for history. For gardens, Great Dixter is nearby. The National Trust and English Heritage have a few sites around here.

It's a working farm, so you'll see us and the sheep about. Sometimes there's machinery noise, but usually it's just the birds.
