Kirkton is a cottage in Castle Douglas. You can walk to the high street in one minute. It's part of a small row of houses, semi-detached.
Two people can stay here. It's one bedroom with a double bed, and one bathroom upstairs. It's got the 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
There's no private garden, but across the road is Carlingwark Loch and its parkland. It’s good for dog walks. You can go right round the loch. They do a Park Run there each week too.
Castle Douglas is a food town. You'll find good butchers, bakers, and places to eat on the high street. It's quiet in the evenings, which I like.
Within half an hour, you can drive to Threave Castle and the Threave Gardens, which are National Trust.
The Galloway Forest Park is about a 40 minute drive, maybe a bit more. It's good for walking if you like remote places. The coast at places like Sandyhills is around a 30 minute drive. It's a proper sandy beach.
For what's here: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and the WiFi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
