The Old Sunday School is in Dalbeattie. It's a detached stone building from 1793. My house is next to it, but you have your own enclosed garden and patio.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. They did a nice job on the conversion, it was even on a TV show once. The main thing to know is about the stairs. They're the original stone spiral stairs from when it was a Sunday school. They're open and quite steep. You just need to take care on them.
It's a rural spot. The shop is about two and a half miles away in Dalbeattie, and the nearest pub is three miles.
You're well placed for the coast here. Sandyhills Bay is a lovely beach, about a fifteen minute drive. Good for a walk or if the weather's decent. There's loads of walking and cycling right from the door. The Seven Stanes mountain biking trails and the National Cycle Network are close by. If you like fishing or watersports, Loch Ken isn't far.
Castle Douglas is the main market town, about twenty minutes away. Good for food shops, cafes, and restaurants. Dumfries is about half an hour's drive if you need more options.
Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for one car right outside. No pets, sorry.
