Craigvar House
Craigvar House is a Georgian townhouse in Castle Douglas. It's a quiet, back street. The garden is enclosed, so it's secure for dogs.
The house sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each has its own bathroom. One bedroom is on the half-landing. The other two are upstairs and are bigger. There's also a small study and a separate little sitting room on the top floor, which is useful if people want a bit of space.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The furniture is mostly antiques, but it's comfortable. It feels like an old house, but it has central heating and Wi-Fi. The stairs are normal for a house this age.
You can walk into the town centre in a few minutes. There's a co-op, shops, and places to eat. Carlingwark Loch is just at the end of the street for a walk.
You're well placed for getting out. The beaches at the Solway Coast are about twenty minutes' drive. The Galloway Forest Park is maybe half an hour for walking or mountain biking. Threave House and Threave Garden are very close.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, parking for one car out front, bedding and towels are included. We accept up to three dogs.
