Rhone Park Steading
Rhone Park Steading is in Crossmichael, a village by Loch Ken. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have a dog.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star property, so it's comfortable and clean. It gets the basics right. You can bring one dog.
The local pub is about 50 yards away. They do food. Castle Douglas, the "Food Town", is three miles away. Good for shops and butchers. The Food Town Day in June is good if you're here then, lots of local producers.
Loch Ken is right there. You can fish from the lochside, but you need to arrange it with me first. The area is good for sailing and walking.
Galloway Forest Park is about a 20 minute drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are good on a clear night. The 7Stanes mountain biking trails are in that area too. For gardens, National Trust's Threave Gardens is nearby.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove for colder nights. It's got a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it.
