Rhone Park Steading

It's called Rhone Park Steading, on the edge of Crossmichael village. It's a single storey bungalow, detached. That means no stairs inside, which is useful.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps with a full house. You can bring one dog. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and clean, but not a show home.

The village is on Loch Ken. You can walk to the lochside in a couple of minutes. There's a pub about 50 yards away that does food. You can arrange fishing on the loch if you're interested.

Castle Douglas is three miles away. They call it the "Food Town" and there's a good choice of shops and butchers. The Galloway Forest Park is about a twenty minute drive. That's a dark sky park, good for stargazing if you get a clear night. It's also central for the 7Stanes mountain biking trails.

For gardens, Threave Gardens are run by the National Trust and are about a fifteen minute drive. If you fancy the coast, it's about half an hour to get to places like Gatehouse of Fleet or Sandyhills.

Included: all bedding and towels, a washing machine, a cot, WiFi, and a TV. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. There's a garden with a patio. Parking is on the drive.
