The Carriage is located in Bridge of Dee. It’s a converted railway carriage from 1957, sat on the old station siding. It's detached and quiet, with views over the fields.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Everything is on the ground floor. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean, not luxurious. It is a railway carriage, so the rooms aren't huge and the layout is a bit different. You get the patio and garden area to yourselves.
There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant about three miles away in Castle Douglas. Castle Douglas is a good market town for shopping. Kirkcudbright is about eight miles, it’s an artists' town with a nice harbour. Gatehouse of Fleet is similar distance.
You’re close to the Solway Coast. There are sandy beaches and little coves about a twenty minute drive. Good for walking. The Galloway Forest Park is on your doorstep for proper forest trails and dark sky spotting. It’s central for the 7 Stanes mountain biking trails too.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, bike storage, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right there. You can bring two dogs.
