Lime Tree Lodge is near Castle Douglas. It's a detached, single-storey lodge we built ourselves. It sits in its own garden with a view of the fields and the Galloway Hills in the distance.
It's for two people only. One bedroom with a kingsize bed and an ensuite shower room. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. Everything is on the ground floor, so no stairs.
The place is very light because of the big windows and doors. It's decorated simply with natural materials. The bed is a good size. We include all the bedding and towels.
It's quiet here. You're looking at fields. But Castle Douglas is only a few minutes away by car. It's a small market town with shops and places to eat. There's a local five-mile circular walk that goes from the lodge into the town and back on quiet lanes.
This is good walking and cycling country. The 7Stanes mountain biking at Dalbeattie Forest is about ten miles away. For a day out, the Galloway Forest Park is maybe half an hour's drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so good for stargazing if it's clear. There are beaches at Rockcliffe and Kippford, about a twenty minute drive.
You're welcome to bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right next to the lodge. It has Wi-Fi and a TV. There's a washing machine. Everything runs on electric, which is included.
