Woodend Farmhouse Halmyre is in Haugh of Urr. It's a detached farmhouse, so you're on your own out here. The views are over fields.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It got refurbished a couple of years back, so it's in good order. It's a 4 Star place, which feels about right. It's comfortable and clean.
The garden is big and fully enclosed. There's a patio area. Inside, the rooms are all a good size. The dining room and lounge have those big bay windows to look out of.
There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. All the bedding and towels are included. You've got a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Parking is right outside.
The local pub is in the village, about a ten-minute walk. They do food. For a proper shop, you'd drive to Castle Douglas. It's not far.
If you're here to get out, you're in a good spot. There's fishing locally. The Dalbeattie 7Stanes mountain bike trails are very close. For walking, you've got forest trails at Mabie and the Solway coast is a short drive. The coast has sandy beaches and little harbours like Kippford.
Golf courses are nearby. Threave Gardens, which is a National Trust for Scotland site, is worth a visit. Historical sites and castles are all over this part of Dumfries and Galloway.
No pets, I'm afraid. The property is on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and tractors about. It's quiet, but not silent.
