Cowar Bothy
Cowar Bothy is a cottage near Hardgate, in Dumfriesshire. It sleeps two. One bedroom with a large bed, and an en-suite shower room.
It was fully refurbished in 2022 so everything is new and in good order. There's a wood burner in the main living area, which is open plan. The garden is enclosed and looks over farmland.
It's quiet here. The nearest pub is about two miles away in Dalbeattie, which is a small town with shops. Castle Douglas is a bit further, maybe fifteen minutes by car. They call it a food town, with good local butchers and cafes.
The area is good for walking and cycling. The Dalbeattie Forest trails are very close for mountain biking. The coast isn't far either, around nine miles to the nearest beach, with places like Kippford and Rockcliffe along the Solway Firth. It's a nice drive.
As for the house, it has a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Parking is right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. All bedding and towels are provided.
