Right, this is Uplands. It’s on the edge of Dalbeattie, so you're close enough to walk into town for the shops and cafes, but it feels a bit more out in the open. It’s detached, so no neighbours through the walls.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. We had it all refurbished a few years ago, so it's in decent order. The main room is open plan, kitchen, dining, living area all together. There’s a wood burner that does throw out a good heat. The stairs are fine, nothing unusual.
The garden is yours. There's a patio with a table and chairs for a barbecue. The previous owners left a giant chess set out there, if that’s your thing.
In terms of things to do, Dalbeattie is a big spot for mountain biking. The Dalbeattie 7Stanes trail is right here. For a walk, you’ve got the forest trails at Mabie as well. The Solway coast is about ten minutes in the car. Places like Kippford and Rockcliffe are good for a wander. There's a golf course a mile away.
You’re about half an hour’s drive from Dumfries, if you need bigger shops or want to see Drumlanrig Castle. The Galloway Forest Park is also within half an hour for proper walking or dark sky spotting.
Facilities: it’s got all the basics. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, parking on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. There’s an electric vehicle charger point now. No pets, sorry.
