Fairview is in Rockcliffe, right by the Solway Coast. It's semi-detached and about a hundred yards from the beach. The beach is sandy and gentle, good for paddling or launching a small boat if you have one.
The house sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The garden wraps around the side and back. You can see the bay and Rough Island from the front windows.
The village is quiet, a conservation area. There's a tea shop for a coffee or a scone. The nearest shop and a restaurant are about a mile away, the closest pub is two miles.
For getting outside, you're right on it. Forest and coastal walks start practically from the door. Dalbeattie Forest is close, and that's where the 7stanes mountain bike trails are if you're into that. You can walk out to Rough Island at low tide, it's a bird sanctuary. The National Trust for Scotland looks after it.
Further along the coast there's RSPB Mersehead and WWT Caerlaverock, if you like birdwatching. For a day out, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet are all nice market towns, about twenty to thirty minutes by car. There's local golf and you can drive up into the hills, like Criffel, if you fancy a proper climb.
Inside, it's got the things you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive. You can bring up to two dogs. We've also got a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them.
