This is Treetops. It's a log cabin near Kippford, in the part of Scotland just north of the border. It's new, built in 2022, so everything works and feels fresh.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One has a bath, the other is just a shower. The main bedroom has its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfortable.
The living space is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, sofas. There are big sliding doors that look straight out into the forest. You get a wood burner for cooler evenings. Outside, there's a deck with seating, a BBQ hut, and a hot tub. The cabin is up on a bit of a slope, so the views are through the trees.
You're right in the forest. You'll see deer, maybe red squirrels if you're lucky. There are walking tracks from the property that lead down to Kippford and Rockcliffe in about half an hour. Both have pubs by the water. The nearest shop is in Colvend village, or there's a bigger one in Dalbeattie, about four miles away.
The coast here is all rocky inlets and little sandy bays. It's good for sailing or just walking. If you want busier towns, Dumfries is about a 20-minute drive and has the usual supermarkets and shops. For a day out, you've got Caerlaverock Castle or the gardens at Castle Kennedy. The Galloway Forest Park is great for walking and is about half an hour by car.
What's here: parking for a couple of cars, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ hut with a sauna next to it. The hot tub is on the deck. Sorry, no pets allowed.
