The Nook is a wee bungalow just outside Auchencairn. It's detached, so it's just you. The main thing is the view. The whole living room faces the sea, with big doors straight out to a patio. You look right over Auchencairn Bay to Hestan Island.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well put together. Everything is on one level.
The hotel next door does food and drink. The nearest shop is about two miles away in the village. The beach isn't a sandy beach, more rocks and shoreline, but it's right there, maybe 50 yards down the path.
You can walk the cliffs from the door. Good walking country. Castle Douglas is about a 20-minute drive for butchers and delis. Kirkcudbright, Kippford and Rockcliffe are all within half an hour. This area is known for gardens, like Threave Garden. It's also central for the Galloway Forest Park, which is a Dark Sky Park, and for the 7Stanes mountain biking trails.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a fully enclosed garden. You can bring one dog.
