The Nook is a bungalow, detached. It's at Balcary, just outside Auchencairn. The view is the main thing. Big windows and sliding doors look straight out over Auchencairn Bay and Hestan Island. You can sit inside and watch it, or stand outside on the patio. It's quiet. The sea's about fifty yards away.
It sleeps two, one bedroom with a large double bed. The living area is open plan. There's a good shower, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Everything is on the ground floor. You can bring one dog.
The hotel next door does food and drink. The nearest shop is two miles away in Auchencairn village.
You can walk the cliff path from the door. The area is good for cycling. Castle Douglas is about a twenty minute drive, Kirkcudbright maybe twenty-five. They've got shops and places to eat. The Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park is within half an hour if you want to look at the stars.
