Holly Cottage
Holly Cottage is a detached house, but it’s on our working farm. So you'll see sheep in the fields. It’s on the edge of Rockcliffe village.
It's a 3 Star place. That means it's comfortable and clean, but not luxurious. It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. You can bring two dogs.
The garden is enclosed, which is useful if you have dogs. You get the garden to yourselves. There's parking right outside.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. We leave some logs for you to start with. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
The cottage is five miles from Dalbeattie and four from Kippford. Rockcliffe itself is quiet. There's a shop about ten minutes walk away. The nearest pub is about a mile and a half, in Kippford.
It's good for walking and cycling. You can walk down to the Solway coast from here. The Dalbeattie 7 Stanes mountain bike trails are very close. It’s a popular area for that.
If you want to drive out, Dumfries is about half an hour away. The National Trust for Scotland's Threave Estate is near there. You can also explore the Galloway Forest Park, which is about a 40 minute drive.
That's about it really. It’s a simple, solid base for being out and about.
