Holly Cottage
This is Holly Cottage. It's near the village of Colvend, in Dumfriesshire. It's a detached cottage on our working farm. You'll see the sheep in the fields from the windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean. You get the whole place to yourselves, with an enclosed garden out the back. It's got a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, and the heating and electricity are included.
The cottage is on the edge of Rockcliffe, which is a seaside village. There's a shop about five minutes walk away. The nearest pub is about a mile and a half, in Kippford. That does food.
You're right on the Solway Coast here. Good for walking straight from the door. For cycling, the Dalbeattie 7 Stanes trails are very close. The coast path is excellent.
Dalbeattie town is five miles one way, Kippford is four miles the other. Dumfries is about half an hour's drive if you need a bigger supermarket or want a day out. The National Trust for Scotland's Threave Estate is also within half an hour.
For facilities, it's all listed. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside the cottage.
