Ardencaple No 2

Ardencaple No 2 is a ground-floor flat in Castle Douglas. It's attached to our house but has its own entrance and a private courtyard out the back.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms and has one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating from VisitScotland, so it's comfortable and clean. Everything is on one level, which makes it straightforward. The doorways are wide and there are grab rails in the bathroom, so it suits people with limited mobility.

It's in a quiet street but you're only a few minutes' walk from the town centre. Castle Douglas calls itself the Food Town. There are a lot of good butchers, bakers, and delis. Plenty of pubs and places to eat, all within easy walking distance.

The flat has a washing machine, Wi-Fi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog.

The courtyard gets the sun in the afternoon. It's enclosed, so it's secure for a dog or kids. There's a barbecue out there.

Location-wise, you're well placed. The Galloway Forest Park is about a 20-minute drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, good for stargazing. The mountain bike trails at Kirroughtree are close by, maybe a 15-minute drive. For beaches, you've got Sandyhills Bay and Rockcliffe about half an hour away.
