This is Burnbank. It's a semi-detached cottage in Kirkgunzeon, which is a small village in Dumfriesshire. The garden backs onto a stream. You can hear it from the patio.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The place has a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. You can bring up to two dogs.
The stairs are a bit steep, typical for a cottage. Everything else is pretty standard: heating, hot water, WiFi, a TV. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can park right outside.
For a shop or a meal, you need to drive about four miles to Dalbeattie. The pub there does food.
If you're here for the outdoors, it's a good spot. Dalbeattie Forest is right on the doorstep for walking and mountain biking. It's part of the 7 Stanes trails. Mabie Forest is also close. The Solway Coast is about a twenty minute drive. There are good beaches at Rockcliffe and Kippford.
Castle Douglas is about nine miles away for a bigger shop. Kirkcudbright is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes by car. It's got galleries and that. Threave Garden is near Castle Douglas if you like that sort of thing. For castle ruins, there's a lot around. Historic Environment Scotland has the details for most of them.
The main thing is it's quiet. You can sit out and listen to the water.
