Woodview
Woodview's a detached lodge sat on the edge of Mabie Forest. It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable, but it's not overly fancy.
The main things are the quiet and the location. It's peaceful. You've got the forest right there. There's a patio with a garden area and a hot tub.
Inside it's all on one level, which is handy. There's an open plan living space, a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
If you're bringing bikes, you're in a good spot. The trails for Mabie Forest and the 7Stanes start practically from the gate. The forest itself is good for walks.
For food, the Loch Arthur Farm Shop is about a mile away in Beeswing. They do lunch and sell their own cheese. There's a pub about five miles off.
Dumfries is a short drive for shops and restaurants. Castle Douglas is known for its food shops. The Galloway Forest Park is the main attraction round here for scenery and walking. On a clear night, it's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are very good.
The coast is about eleven miles. If you golf, there's a course nearby.
