Terraughtie Cottage West
Terraughtie Cottage West is in Cargenbridge, just outside Dumfries. It's a semi-detached house, one of a pair. It looks out over fields.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. It was all done up in 2023, so everything's new. The stairs are normal house stairs, not steep cottage ones.
The main room is open plan, so whoever's cooking isn't cut off from everyone else. There's a wood burner. The garden is yours, and there's a hot tub.
You're about a twenty minute walk from the edge of Dumfries town centre, or a five minute drive. There's a farm shop called Kilnford Kitchen barely two minutes' walk away. They do food and have a wee nature trail with Highland cattle. There's a pub about two and a half miles down the road.
For getting out, you've got the Crichton Estate walks right nearby. Auldernauk Fishery is a short walk away if you fly fish. The Solway coast is about half an hour's drive. For a proper day out, the Galloway Forest Park is under an hour away. It's a Dark Sky Park, so if it's clear at night, the stars are incredible. The 7Stanes mountain biking trails are all within that range too.
Gretna Green is about half an hour south if you want to pop over the border.
In terms of stuff here, it's all included: wifi, TV, parking, washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels. You can bring up to two dogs.
