Martha's Shore Cottage
Martha's Shore Cottage is in Kelton, which is near Dumfries. It’s a detached, single-storey cottage. It used to be a fisherman's cottage, built around 1700. Martha's family were artists and stone masons who lived here for generations.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is useful. One of the bathrooms is a wet room on the ground floor. The whole place is wheelchair accessible, with grab rails and level access.
The cottage looks out over fields towards the Nith Estuary. You get a proper view. It's quiet. The garden is enclosed, so it's secure.
You can walk straight from the door along the river. There's a lot of birdlife. It's good for cycling on the quiet roads around here. The Solway Firth is nearby.
Dumfries is about three miles away for shops and things. There's a pub and a shop about half a mile walk from the cottage. Caerlaverock Castle is three miles away. The salt marshes around it are good for wildfowl. There are sandy beaches and fishing villages a short drive away.
Inside, it's got a woodburning stove, TV, and WiFi. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. Parking is on site.
