Gullsway
Gullsway is our place in Glencaple, Dumfriesshire. It's a big detached house that sleeps nine, with five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's up on a bit of a slope, so you get a good view. That's the main thing. You look out over the Nith estuary towards Criffel hill. The sun room is good for sitting in and watching the water.
There's a proper kitchen and dining area, and the living room is bright. It's a house for a big family or a group, really. The gardens are private.
You're only about 500 yards from a local pub that does food. It's a quiet spot. If you’re coming with a dog, we allow two pets.
Caerlaverock Castle is just three miles away. It’s an English Heritage site and worth a visit. The nature reserve there is good for birdwatching too. The Solway coast and Southerness golf course are within half an hour. Dumfries town is about a 20 minute drive.
What we’ve got: parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. One of the bathrooms is a ground floor wet room, which is handy.
