River View is in Dock Park, right in Dumfries. It's a maisonette, so it's over two floors. The name is accurate, you do look out over the River Nith.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well equipped. The stairs are a point to mention. They're in the listing as open, steep, and narrow. Just so you know.
There's no private garden, but you're basically in a park. Dock Park is right there. It's got walks along the river, a play park, mini golf, and a cafe in season. You're about a ten minute walk into the town centre. There's a shop about 300 yards away, and a pub and a restaurant are even closer.
Dumfries has the usual high street shops. The Robert Burns House is here, which is where he lived.
For getting further out, you're well placed. The Solway Coast is about a 30 minute drive. There are good beaches that way. Caerlaverock Wetland Centre is a big nature reserve, about a 20 minute drive. If you're into mountain biking, the 7Stanes trails at Mabie and Dalbeattie Forest are within half an hour. The Galloway Forest Park, which is a Dark Sky Park, is about a 40 minute drive.
What's here: WiFi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
